What does an Inspection cost?

How long with the inspection take?

Generally speaking an inspection can take anywhere from 3-4 hours. At Healthy House, you will be provided with TWO inspectors per inspection. This not only cuts the inspection time in half, but also provides peace of mind to our clients. Two sets of eyes are always better than one!


Why do I need a Home Inspection? It is a new construction.

Let's face it, no one is perfect. There may be a drainage issue that was overlooked during construction. Or possibly the flashing on the roof was not properly installed. Maybe there is an appliance that is not functioning, or even a heating system not fully connected. There are an array of things that can go wrong during a build, PROTECT YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY, and YOUR INVESTMENT!

Should I be there for the Inspection?


Absolutly! After all, this is your future investment! I will walk you through the entire property and thoroghly answer any/all questions you may have. I encourage all of my clients to take advantage of the information provided from being present.

What is Radon?

Radon is a radioactive gas. It comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up. Any home may have a radon problem. This means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.


Radon is estimated to cause about 21,000 lung cancer deaths per year, according to EPA's 2003 Assessment of Risks from Radon in Homes (EPA 402-R-03-003). The numbers of deaths from other causes are taken from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's 1999-2001 National Center for Injury Prevention and Control Report and 2002 National Safety Council Reports.

Paying a little extra for an InterNACHI inspector pays off!

 
Buying a home?  It is probably the most expensive purchase you will ever make.  This is no time to shop for a cheap inspection.  The cost of a home inspection is very small relative to the home being inspected.  The additional cost of hiring an InterNACHI-certified inspector is almost insignificant, in comparison, but your choice is just as important.
 
You have recently been crunching the numbers -- negotiating offers, adding up closing costs, shopping for mortgages -- and trying to get the best deals.  Don't stop now.  Do not let your real estate agent, a patty-cake inspector, or anyone else talk you into skimping on the home inspection.  InterNACHI-certified inspectors perform the best inspections by far.
